Joint India Water Filter Project to Benefit 100,000 Children





















THE ROTARY CLUB OF CHANDIGARH, INDIA LAUNCHED "CLEAN DRINKING WATER" MATCHING GRANT PROJECT WITH ROTARY CLUB OF CORAL GABLES, USA (OUR TWIN CLUB) VERY SUCCESSFULLY AT GOVERNMENT MODEL SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL, SECTOR 20-D, CHANDIGARH ON SATURDAY, 4TH SEPTEMBER, 2010.

OUR CHIEF GUEST OF THIS MORNING WAS SHRI RAM NIWAS, SECRETARY HOME AND EDUCATION, UNION TERRITORY, CHANDIGARH.FOLLOWING ROTARIANS WERE PRESENT AT 8:30 AM TO PARTICIPATE. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK EACH ONE OF THEM. AND WE MISSED THOSE WHO WERE NOT THERE.PRIP R K SABOO, PRES. ARVIND MAHAJANRTN. R K TANEJA (CHAIRMAN FOR CLEAN WATER PROJECT), PP MAJ B M SINGHPP MANMOHAN SINGH KOHLIPP VIJAY WADHAWANIPP G S LAKHMNARTN. HASSAN MEJIE, CLUB SECRETRAYRTN. A P SINGH, DIRECTOR CLUB SERVICE RTN. VIVEK GUPTA, DIRECTOR VOCATIONAL SERVICE RTN P S MATHAROORTN LALITA JAGMOHAN SINGHINAUGURATION WAS DONE BY RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY PERFORMED BY SHRI RAM NIWAS, HOME & EDUCATION SECRETARY, UNION TERRITORY, CHANDIGARH.

ON REACHING THE DIAS, PRESIDENT OF RC CHANDIGARH ARVIND MAHAJAN WELCOMED THE CHIEF GUEST AND SPOKE ABOUT OUR CURRENT PROJECT OF INSTALLING WATER FILTERS IN GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS IN TRICITY OF CHANDIGARH AND ALSO ROTARY PROJECTS IN BRIEF. PRIP R K SABOO SPOKE TO THE CHILDREN BEAUTIFULLY AND EXPLAINED ABOUT THE LEH RELIEF PROJECT BEING CURRENTLY UNDERTAKEN BY OUR CLUB AND FINALLY THE CHIEF GUEST SHRI RAM NIWAS HAD A 45 MINUTES VERY INTERESTING INTERACTION WITH THE CHILDREN WHERE HE SPOKE ABOUT GENERAL HYGIENE, CIVIC SENSE, "NO DRUGS" SLOGAN WITH AN OATH FROM THE CHILDREN TO STAY AWAY FROM DRUGS. HE SPOKE ABOUT HEALTH AND GENERAL KNOWLEDGE ABOUT CONSTITUTION OF INDIA.

SHRI RAM NIWAS HAD PROMISED THE ROTARIANS THAT WATER COOLERS WOULD BE INSTALLED IN SCHOOLS WHERE THE COOLERS WERE NOT THERE AT ALL AT THE ADMINISTRATION'S COST - KUDOS TO HIM FOR HIS KIND GESTURE. AFTER THIS A FEW ROTARIANS WITH SHRI PAWAN KUMAR SHARMA ( D P I - SCHOOLS) PROCEEDED TO GOVT HIGH SCHOOL IN THE SAME SECTOR WHERE WE HAD GOT ANOTHER INSTALLATION DONE OF EUREKA FORBES WATER FILTER. IT WAS FORMALLY LAUNCHED THIS MORNING AND WITH THIS WE HAVE TOTAL OF TWO FILTERS INSTALLED. OUR TOTAL TARGET IS 100 PLUS FILTERS IN LESS THAN THREE MONTHS IN ALL GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS IN CHANDIGARH. TERRY, PLEASE GIVE ME ALL THE EMAIL IDs WHICH YOU WOULD WANT TO RECEIVE UPDATES FOR THIS PROJECT ON A REGULAR BASIS.
