Chance & Dance

Shhh! Speak easy when you ask to come in.

Chance & Dance, a Speakeasy Casino Fundraiser was presented by the Rotary Foundation of Coral Gables on Friday evening, March 4th at the Coral Gables Country Club. The evening provided a trip back to the era of Prohibition when bathtub gin and games of chance were all held behind locked doors. The music played while ladies and gentlemen danced and partook of the illegal liquid libations.

Some 150 people attended our Speakeasy Casino Fund Raiser Birthday Party on Friday night at the Coral Gables Country Club. But it felt more like Monte Carlo in the Roaring 20's, from the Gangster's molls waiting at the front door with their vintage cars to the beautiful crystal chandeliers that set the mood for the games of chance. It was a great party.

We raised $20,000 from the evening. Our beneficiary, CoralGables@HOME will take away 85% of the proceeds to establish the Senior Scholarship Fund to aid low income seniors in Coral Gables to become members of this tremendous program. The remaining 15% is retained by our own Foundation to help fund our local and international projects. While it doesn't seem like a lot of money, when it's matched by our District and again by Rotary International, that money will become much more, allowing us to make a difference both locally and globally.

We cannot begin to thank the many people who made this event such a success but we will start with our Sponsors:
