A Little History of YOUR Rotary ClubBuzz Avrutis came into our club in 1988 after about 16 years as a member and past-president of the Miami Club. Twice, he was nominated for District Governor by our club, with superior qualifications. He was `1987’s Distinguished Rotarian of the Year for the Miami club and 1989-90 Rotarian of the Year for our club. He was Chair of the 1989-90 Auction (the Promenade’s predecessor), Chairman and founder of the club’s Salvation Army Kettle program and initiated our club’s “Club 20 Program.”
He served the District in three dozen different ways, especially in his role as founder and Chairman for seven years of the District Career Fair Committee. He served his advertising and marketing classification as a great professional and has served admirably in a dozen or so leadership positions all over this community.
