Rotary International Convention in New Orleans

Here are the photos hot off the press from New Orleans ...

RI's Intl' Convention has come to an end... Here are some parting photos from NOLA...

Streetcars in New Orleans bear the unmistakable mark of Rotary.

RI is truly International!

Bill Gates came to RI's International Convention but you can only catch a glimpse of him on the monitor. You can hear him and hear about his devotion to the cause of eradicating polio from the face of the earth. His foundation has spent more than the $255 million Gates Challenge. The total now is about $1.3 Billion. New reported cases have sunk to the single digits. There are no reports of new cases in India this year and few in the other three endemic countries. Gates is proud of Rotary. We are grateful to him. It's a terrific partnership that is beneficial to the entire world and to children everywhere- President Sally B, from New Orleans.

19,000 Rotarians patiently wait for Bill Gates... on May 24, 2011

Look! Here is Cholly Capps! In person at the NOLA RI Intl' Convention! If you are new to our club, you may want to know that Cholly was a veteran Rotarian from our club for a long, long time; and he was the author of our club's series of Roots that is being republished in this blog. Look for them to read and learn from Cholly.
