For a long time now, Dr. Phil Boswell has hosted the annual installation party for the Coral Gables Senior High School Interact Club at his home. 

 The purpose of the party is actually two-fold.  While the primary purpose is to formally install the coming year's Officers and Board of Directors, the secondary purpose is to celebrate the outgoing seniors for all their hard work, contributions and Service Above Self.

 Dr. Phil's backyard was all set up for Cinco de Mayo, complete with sombrero's, a pinata, and festooned with red, yellow and green streamers in honor of the festivities for the day.

Even the menu, prepared by Mercy Vera from the Culinary School at Gables High, ably assisted by Miguel Flores, was planned around the holiday.  She made a Mexican Lasagna that was outstanding!  And of course there was plenty of Pollo Tropical to go around too.

Outgoing President Eddie Alsina was basically the host for the evening.  He presided over the awards given to various Interactors for their contributions to the Club.  He introduced the slide presentation prepared to chronicle 2011-2012.  The new Officers and Board were introduced and Sally B., Past President of Coral Gables Rotary, performed the "swearing-in".

School Faculty Sponsor, Margarite DePaolo gave out gifts to just about everybody on the board as her way of saying "thank you" for making this a really great year for Interact.  And Interact, fully aware of how important Ms. DePaolo is to the very success of their club, honored her appropriately.  They showered her with gifts, orchids, and more.  Even more impressive, Margarite was presented with an original oil painting of herself, her dog and all things Interact, done by Interactor Vanessa Suarez.

Interact is actually looking forward to the start of the 2012-2013 school year (August 20th).  In fact they've already gotten a jump on the year by setting up and planning for many of their service projects in advance.  They will be lighting up more buildings in Coral Gables with "End Polio Now" logo next year too.

It was a terrific party.  Thanks once again to Dr. Phil Boswell for his hospitality. Congratulations to all of the Interactors graduating in 2012.  You can be proud of a job well done. We only hope that your experiences lead you to a future life in Rotary and Service Above Self.
